Theme : Everyday Items

Let's look at the world like children - and find something normally uninteresting - and try to make it interesting. It could be a coffee cup - a soda bottle - a battery - maybe even tile grout. There are always hundreds of pictures waiting to be taken - it's just a matter of identifying your subject.

Admin Update:

To streamline the appearance of the links - I have removed the link comment field. Now it should show your name - and a link to your entry.

Theme: Portrait

Often times we as photographers get caught up in capturing interesting objects and ignore the living subjects around us. To me - portraits are like history books. They are stamps in time. They sometimes capture an age of life - or maybe a hair style - and sometimes beautiful traces of emotion hidden beneath a stoic expression.

my entry this week is a portrait of my wife

UPDATE

I have fixed the bug where it ruins links with semicolons. From now on - when you submit a link - it should work fine.

Also, I am thinking about making some changes to this page over the next couple of weeks. One changes is to remove the comments section and just have name and entry. Please drop me a line and tell me what you think of this.

Also. I'm working on figuring out a link viewer script that not reality sent me so - if you think a link viewer would be a cool thing - drop me a line and give me some motivation. I'm just learning this whole php thing and I am at least starting to understand what the code means... Anyway. Thanks for participating everyone and if you see a problem - PLEASE REPORT IT with the THEME SUGGESTION headline in tact. They go to a spiffy high importance folder.

thanks all.

Theme: Doors/ Doorways, into out of...

We are always entering/exiting doorways. We lock our doors at night - for security - or at least the illusion of it. We keep the world out - and let the world in with our doors. Some doors are always open - and some - are nailed shut. Some swing both ways - some revolve and there are even some - the work on a verticle plane. Some doors don't even exist in the material realm: spiritual doorways leading us to enlightenment or new sufferings, emotional doorways of hope and despair.

My entry this week is of my cousin on a rope swing. I used a doorway to frame the subject.

Theme : Insects

This week's subject is probably one of my favorites. I must say squirrels are a close second but photographing insects always excites the kid in me. There's something about how alien and strange they look that always catches my eye.

site update information:
------------------------

Everything seems to be going well. Currently I'm using blogger and a the a comments system. If anyone has any code they'd like to share - I'd be more than happy to use it. I've looked at moveable type and it seems it's plagued by comments spam. I'd like to change the format a little and have a submit column/link viewer but I just can't wrap my head around it. I also like the idea of just having names and links without comments. I think it's easier to browse. I'm still learning on all of this and any coding help is greatly appreciated.

Well that's all for now. See you next week.

Theme : Conception

This is the first theme for the newly created photo tuesday. I emailed sherle a couple of times at phototime tuesday and realized it was time to start a new meme.

So here it is!!!

Please consider photo tuesday in it's beta stage - which means that suggestions and problem reports are welcome. I hope I can make things interesting and create something a little different than the rest of the memes out there.

I'm posting this one fairly early so maybe we can have a little more participlation than before.

Well thanks for participating.
